SALARY:

$39,400-$49,200+ per year the posted salary range represents the minimum to the midpoint within RVU's compensation plan. RVU's full compensation structure provides a minimum to a maximum range. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary Purpose

This position will be responsible for assisting the Marketing Director and Vice President of Enrollment Management and External Relations in the development and implementation of an effective marketing and communications program to achieve the mission of the University

Essential Job Functions

  • Manage all social media related to RVU and its two campus locations including content creation and scheduling across 8+ platforms.
  • Oversee the proper management of affiliated usee sites.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging trends and training .
  • Ensure compliance of RVU's Social Media Policy and update policy as needed.
  • Write and distribute press releases.
  • Maintain contact list for local and national media.
  • Search for and send news and announcements to RVU community regularly.
  • Oversee Home Town News program. Write press releases regarding students' achievements and distributes releases to designated community papers.
  • Stay up-to-date on best public relations and crisis communications practices.
  • Strengthen relationships with osteopathic and partner organizations.
  • Maintain an up-to-date publishing calendar for the RVU Blog.
  • Research, develop and implement best blogging practices.
  • Write and edit articles for the RVU Blog and the Vista View Newsletter.
  • Source photos and graphics for publications.
  • Format and distribute the monthly Around the RVU Campfire Newsletter using Keap (FKA InfusionSoft)
  • Analyze engagements for all publications.


Marginal Job Functions

  • Assist administration, faculty and staff in special projects.
  • Supports and attends activities of all areas of Marketing department with duties as assigned including but not limited to community and campus events.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Experience with different forms of writing (creative, business, etc.)
  • Knowledge of graphic design software including Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign)
  • Experience with Wordpress
  • Experience with multiple social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.) and social media strategy
  • Experience with social media scheduling and analytics software (Sprout Social, HubSpot, etc.)
  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work with confidential material with an attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize a large workload, and problem solve innovatively
  • Demonstrate strong computer skills
  • Demonstrate time management skills and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with photography in a professional setting
  • Motivated and self-directed
  • Strong attention to detail


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Writing, or Communications
  • Minimum of two (2) years working in social media.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Writing, or Communications
  • Previous experience at an accredited university, health profession college or medical school
