Position Summary
We invite you to join our Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Applied Behavior Analysis, School Psychology, and Educational Counseling. To teach in our program, you must have a master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Education Leadership, Education, or a related field. We are searching for instructors with an expertise in Action Research Methods and an understanding of American Psychological Association formatting. In this role, the successful candidate will provide students with individualized instruction and guidance while they work onsite at schools in our Educational Counseling practicum.
Note: This part-time Adjunct Faculty position will be teaching 8-week online courses.
Essential Job Duties:
- ·Lead classroom sessions on-site and/or online according to university policies.
- Provide expertise in assigned content area by maintaining current knowledge in the field.
- Respond to student needs in a timely fashion or typically within 48 hours.
- Provide substantive feedback to students, grade assignments, and post grades.
- Participate in online class discussion boards.
- Emphasize student-centered learning by promoting student inquiries and encouraging participation in their own learning.
- Maintain a positive, safe, student-centric learning environment.
- Master’s degree in Educational Counseling, School Counseling, Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Education Leadership, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a K-12 School Counselor with a current counseling credential (any state), Educational Administrator, or Community College Counselor.
- Must reside and be eligible to work in the United States.
- Terminal degree (Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D.) in Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Education Leadership, Education, or a related field.
- Experience in Social Emotional Learning pedagogy and trauma-based counseling.
- Demonstrated advocate for social justice and equity in schools.
- Completed MFT or LPCC license.
- PPS Credential in School Counseling completed in the state of California.
- 1-3 years college-level teaching experience in a related field.
