Position Summary

Dallas College is seeking an experienced, highly collaborative manager with a proven record of enhancing academic quality, faculty excellence, diversity, equity and inclusion, and student academic success in a dynamic higher education environment. The Senior Manager of Academic Transfer Programs is a forward-thinking advocate for student-centered success and holistic well-being and a champion of intentional inclusion. The Senior Manager reports to the Dean of Transfer, Articulation, and Alternative Credit Programs and is responsible for the administrative leadership of Dallas College’s Ascender Program and other internal or external academic transfer programming.
The Senior Manager will oversee the planning for student cohort information, orientation, application, enrollment, transition, and campus student engagement activities. This includes continuous improvement efforts with enrollment management, student success, faculty support, and monitoring student enrollment and progress through completion. Program or project management skills and experience working with multiple stakeholders to achieve the goals and outcomes of the program or project are critical. Be an innovative problem solver with an open and collaborative style of management that fosters teamwork, sustains a student learning environment that is student-centric, and encourages support.
Requires a dynamic understanding of relevant laws and policies. Ability to independently analyze problems, search for strategic solutions, and organize and influence individuals to meet the vision, mission, and goals of the organization and Dallas College. Ensure operations function to promote diversity and professional growth.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of the purpose of community colleges and the vision, policies, and procedures of Dallas College.
• Ability to identify and address opportunities and challenges that arise because of Dallas College’s current transformation.
• Ability to manage complex projects; plan and evaluate processes or programs; examine and re-engineer operations; recommend policy; develop and implement new strategies and procedures.
• Ability to support strategic direction by identifying actions necessary to complete the task(s) and obtain results meeting timelines, budget, performance goals, etc.
• Ability to collaborate with internal leadership and/or stakeholders (including but not limited to Student Success, Academic Deans, Department Chairs, Marketing, and others) regarding ways to improve the organization's functionality in the student's best interest.

Minimum Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (Master’s degree preferred).
• Three (3) years of experience in higher education (community colleges preferred) student development, special populations or programs, or other related experience.
• Experience working with and leading diverse students and staff populations leading academic programs, student success programs, or other related projects.
• Prefer experience with leading large, cross-functional teams, or supervising staff, student employees, and/or interns.
• Current and valid Texas driver's license is required.
• Bilingual preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Manager is responsible for one or more of the following functions:
• Logistics Leadership & Implementation: Lead the organization of Dallas College personnel in the planning for student cohort information, orientation, application, enrollment, transition, and campus student engagement activities.
o Provide oversight and accountability for the operational effectiveness and efficiency of the Dallas College Ascender Program, including recruitment, enrollment, learning community development through academic leadership and faculty support, data reporting, and continuous improvement to achieve goals.
o Coordinate cohort progress and pathway monitoring with success coaches, pathways success team, faculty, and administrators, communicating needs for changes or problem resolution to Dean and other appropriate leadership across Dallas College.
o Manage processes for monitoring cohorts' enrollment status and communication with appropriate college personnel, planning for cohort transition from semester to semester and through program completion.
o Manage course requests and rosters to ensure student enrollment and hand-offs to appropriate Dallas College personnel. Work with appropriate personnel to oversee survey administration and data collection.
o Recommends policy/procedural changes with the Dean to support business needs.
• Enrollment Management & Faculty Support: Responsible for coordinating and improving program enrollment management processes with various leadership teams, including Academic Deans, Department Chairs, Academic Schedule Team (AST), Student Success and Enrollment Management teams, and Information Technology.
o Collaborate with appropriate leadership teams on developing workflows and technology applications for more efficient processes to coordinate effective enrollment at all seven campuses.
o Collaborate with Student Success Coaches and faculty on support strategies with learning community courses.
o Lead and work closely with different college task forces/committees and Instructional Schools to facilitate Ascender Learning Community engagement and success.
o Cultivate and maintain campus, instructional schools and external relationships that lead to partnerships for students; convening, leading, and curating campus wide conversations about learning communities, as well as theories, models, and activities that center culturally responsive/relevant curriculum and engagement.
• Student Engagement and Support for Transfer and Career Development: Collaborate with Student Life on identifying culturally relevant engagement opportunities for students in Ascender and overseeing large-scale events such as Noche de Familia. Work with the Career and Transfer Skills Development team to support leadership development opportunities for students, including the mentoring component of the program, as well as on-campus job placement, as needed.
o Collaborate with marketing and other student success personnel in creating and distributing communication materials to current program students.
o Support the Career and Transfer Skills Development team in planning for the involvement of Ascender students in workshops and events.
o Manage and plan large-scale programming, such as Noche de Familia, while supporting and engaging Dallas College community about events, needs, and opportunities for the Ascender Community.
• Progress & Completion Reporting: Responsible for coordinating the initial development and annual updating of the Ascender Program Cohorts' progress and completion.
o Develop systems for monitoring each cohort's academic progress
o Recommend adjustments/improvements to ensure successful completion of the program
o Collaborate with Strategic Analytics on producing reports for internal reporting to administrators and external partners as needed.
o Collaborate with Academic Deans, Department Chairs, and faculty in developing and maintaining effective methods to identify students needing additional support.
• Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
