Starting Date: January 1, 2023

Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of the position include teaching, and service to the Pre-Engineering and Applied Physics program. This position is a 9-month appointment. Teaching within the Pre-Engineering and Applied Physics program may include courses in Strengths of Materials, Statics and Dynamics, Computer Aided Design, Industrial Design, Project Management, Circuits Design, as well as Introductory Physics. The candidate will be expected to help build and leverage new and existing partnerships with the manufacturing community in SE Wisconsin by actively engaging with local, regional and national partners, recruit new students to Carroll's pre-engineering program, and advise pre-engineering students. Other opportunities and responsibilities will depend on experience. Final course assignments will depend upon department needs as well as the preferences of the successful candidate.

Qualifications: B.S. or higher in engineering and a Ph.D. in a STEM related field, or an M.S. in engineering. Expertise required in mechanical or electrical engineering. Preference will be given to applicants with a documented record of teaching and expertise, and/or professional experience.

Rank and Salary: Commensurate with qualifications.

The Program: The Pre-Engineering and Applied Physics program is within the Department of Computational and Physical Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences. Current enrollment supports approximately 20 Applied Physics majors. Through the Applied Physics and Engineering Dual Degree program, Carroll students may pursue engineering degrees at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee or Platteville after completing three years of study at Carroll. Unlike most pre-engineering programs, Carroll offers engineering courses. The program utilizes state of the art, teaching and research laboratories in the newly constructed Hasted Hall which opened September 2017.
