Position Summary:

Join our Criminal Studies Justice department as an Administrative Assistant. This is a full time benefit eligible position that offers health, dental and vision insurance, retirement, disability, tuition assistance for you and your dependents, vacation/sick accrual and holiday pay.

This position provides administrative support to the Department of Criminal Justice and Security Studies. Provides personal, email, and telephone reception to a wide constituency. Manages scheduling and logistics for meetings, speakers, and other events; assists with student recruitment efforts. Supervise student workers. Ensures CJSS office operates efficiently and smoothly.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
3 years of full-time administrative support experience in a professional office environment
Experience protecting and maintaining confidentiality of information.
Ability to work effectively as a cooperative member of a professional office.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
Effective written communication skills.
Ability to draft documents independently and proofread documents for errors.
Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Associate’s Degree.
Demonstrated ability to engage effectively, respectfully, and professionally with multiple constituents at multiple levels in an organization.
Demonstrated ability to work as a cooperative member of a professional office.
Experience with Google suite of products (G-Mail, Calendar, Drive, SharedDrive, etc.).
Experience with an electronic procurement system for purchase orders and payment requests.
Demonstrated resourcefulness in solving work-related problems.
Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively.
Demonstrated experience protecting and maintaining confidentiality of information.
Demonstrated ability to plan and organize work in observance of deadlines.
Demonstrated experience learning and adapting to new information and systems.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Effective oral communication skills
Experience working in a college or university academic office.
Willingness to engage with Catholic and Marianist educational values.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
