Job Details
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow to work on projects related to global transgender health and/or intersectional discrimination and health. Survey research experience is required and experience with mixed-methods research and/or psychometrics is desirable. The fellow will work with Dr. Ayden Scheim and have the opportunity for mentorship and collaboration with other faculty at Drexel and with collaborators across the United States and internationally.
The fellow will be primarily responsible for conducting analyses and authoring publications for two ongoing NIH-funded mixed-methods studies. They will have the opportunity to lead publications and develop their own research ideas. The candidate will participate in professional development activities including research group management and grant writing and will have access to training opportunities across the School of Public Health. Standard NIH postdoctoral salary guidelines apply. In addition, a generous research allowance will be provided. Remote work arrangements and assistance with moving expenses are available. Essential Functions
Research and dissemination
- Design and conduct data analyses
- Contribute to papers as lead or co-author
- Develop community-facing research products to share key findings
- Assist with supervision of graduate students
- Work with project manager to ensure data quality for ongoing studies
- Assist with survey programming and qualitative or quantitative database management, as needed
- Assist with developing funding applications for future studies
- PhD or Doctorate in Epidemiology, public health, psychology, social science, or a related field
- 1-2 years of Experience
- Proficiency in SAS and/or Stata
- Experience analyzing survey data
- Demonstrated expertise related to two or more of the following: sexual and gender minority health; intersectionality; racism, stigma and discrimination; mental health; HIV; measurement and psychometrics; community-based participatory research
- Possess excellent oral, written, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Experience applying anti-racist and equity, diversity, and inclusion frameworks to research processes
- Proficiency in Spanish or Hindi
- Experience conducting qualitative and/or mixed-methods data analysis
