The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington is recruiting a Section Chief for Cardiac Intensive Care in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and the Pediatric Heart Center. The Section Chief will be responsible for the coordination and administration of clinical and academic activities within the Cardiac ICU Section and will also serve as an Associate Division Chief for the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. The Section Chief will work closely with Critical Care, Pediatric Heart Center, Seattle Children’s Hospital, and Department of Pediatrics leadership to achieve excellence in the clinical, educational, research, and quality improvement activities of the CICU Section. The successful candidate will be expected to support the department's commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusiveness. Opportunities are available for research and collaboration with scientists at Seattle Children’s Research Institute, as well as all biomedical departments at the University of Washington. This position will offer unique opportunities to coordinate existing programs and develop new programs in pediatric cardiac intensive care. The position is full time. Applicants will be appointed at the level of Associate Professor without tenure by reason of funding, or full Professor without tenure by reason of funding, on the Clinician Scholar or Faculty Scientist pathway. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Anticipated start date is Winter 2023.
Associate and Full Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
