Position Description

The Department of English at Spelman College is seeking qualified individuals to teach first-year writing within the general education core. Candidates should have a PhD (or be ABD ) in an appropriate discipline and have college-level teaching experience. Review of applications begins 10/10/22.

Specific Course(s) to be taught:
First-Year Composition (6 sections): Times are TBA and will depend on instructor’s availability and open classroom space.

Qualifications

ABD or PhD preferred, but a minimum of a master’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate discipline; previous experience teaching at a college-level.
