The University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) Organizatonal Systems and Adult Health department is currenlty recruiting for a part-time Assistant Professor to support the objectives of a Nurse Support Program II Grant. The individual will have: instructional responsibilities to teach courses (ex. Organizational Behavior; Healthcare Finance; Leadership) within the Master’s Program,Health Services Leadership and Management (HSLM) specialty; advise program students from participating Grant hospitals; assist with the collection of Grant evaluation data; and, support NSP II Grant objectives to increase the number of prepared nurse leaders and educators for the State of Maryland.

UMSON enrolls more than 2,000 students in its baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral programs and is ranked 11th among all schools of nursing in the nation, whereas the Nurse Anesthesia Program is currently ranked 10th in the nation. UMSON is part of the University of Maryland graduate professional campus that also includes the schools of medicine, dentistry, social work, pharmacy, and law and is one of the fastest growing biomedical research centers in the nation. The unique composition of the campus enables health professionals to address clinical care, public policy, and social issues through multidisciplinary research, scholarship, and community action. In the Fall of 2021, UMB will require all faculty, staff, and students to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Exemptions for medical or religious reasons will be processed through Human Resources.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Instruction of RN-BSN and Master's level courses will include teaching on-line courses such as organizational behavior, health care economics,

finance, and health care administration using Blackboard and Blackboard Collaborate.

2. Provision of programmatic information sessions on-site at participating Grant hospitals and work with hospital-based Nurse Educators will include

travel to Maryland hospitals participating in the Grant and distributing programmatic materials.

3. Assistance with verbal presentations will include explaining the purpose and process of grant activities and providing academic advisement to

students.

4. . Collection of grant outcome evaluation data will be conducted to include on-line surveys, assistance with data evaluation and presentation using

descriptive and analytic techniques and participation with written and verbal Grant reports as well as publications and academic.

Qualifications :

PREFERRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: MSN, PhD/DNP in Nursing or Related Health Care Doctorate

Type of experience: Minimum of 2 years nursing clinical leadership level experience and 2 years of nursing faculty experience

Supervisory Experience: Clinical mid-level leadership experience or above

License/Certification: RN, certification in a nursing specialty

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

1. Instuctional skills providing Baccalaureate or Master's level education

2. On-line education delivery using Blackboard, Blackboard Collaborate, Skype

3. Advisment and mentorship of students

4. Statistical analysis, charts, graphs

5. Preparation of reports, publications
