Major/Essential Functions

This position will serve as Chair of the Department of Psychiatry. The chair is responsible for the overall operations of the Psychiatry Department. The chair reports to the Regional Dean of Amarillo. Other key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Maintain an active psychiatry practice; Diagnose, treat and direct care independently for patients in the Texas Tech Psychiatry patients in the Texas Tech Psychiatry Clinic; Obtain and maintain active medical staff; Supervise faculty, residents, medical students, mid-level providers, and nursing staff in the care of patients in the clinic, and where applicable, teaching hospitals or acute/long-term care facilities; Prepare/present didactic conference sessions for colleagues and medical students/residents; Serve as a faculty advisor/mentor to residents/students.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with credentials to be an Associate Professor level or Higher will be considered. The successful candidate will be an accomplished clinician and teacher who has experience in administration of an academic or clinical practice. License to practice medicine in the State of Texas or ability to receive a medical license in State of Texas.
