ATTENTION:

The Division of Student Affairs - CITEE at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater seeks a Data Engineer I.



JOB DETAILS:

This position contributes to all CITEE research and grant projects by creating automated processes for preparing and analyzing data at scale. This position reports to the CITEE Research Analyst II/Research and Data Manager.



QUALIFICATIONS:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Process Preparation and Automation 85%

• Prepares data sets for current and future analysis including cleaning/quality assurance, transformations, restructuring, and integration of multiple data sources and may use technologies that support data at scale.
• Implements data analysis steps in collaboration with data scientists, statisticians, and/or other internal and external partners and may use technologies that support data at scale.
• Organizes both data preparation and analysis steps into reproducible pipelines that can process similar data sets automatically.
• Selects appropriate technologies and optimizes pipelines for performance.
• Develops, constructs, tests, and maintains architectures for large-scale data management and analysis.
• Identifies and plans for resources necessary to develop and maintain architectures necessary to support new and/or existing projects.
• Coordinates with student and staff members responsible for data collection and entry to ensure high fidelity and to continuously improve processes.
• Collaborates with and contributes to a fast-paced and dynamic team.
• Manages multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
• Completes all necessary paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
• Complies with all University, partner agency, state and federal regulations, confidentiality requirements and compliance regulations.

Other Activities 15%

• Participates in all required team meetings, including virtual and on campus meetings, and other CITEE projects as assigned.
• Provide support to CITEE leadership and the institution as designated.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting salary within the range of $55,000 - $60,000 based on the candidate’s education, related experience, and qualifications.

• This position is classified as remote, with periodic need to travel to UW-Whitewater campus locations to attend meetings or complete other tasks.
• Travel requirement is less than 25% of the time.
