Job Description:

The Department of Theatre, Art, and Graphic and Animation Design invites applications for a position in Acting at the Assistant Professor level for a one-year, visiting appointment. The theatre program provides degree programs of study leading to either a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual and Performing Arts or a Bachelor of Arts degree. In collaboration with the Department of Music, the theatre program also offers a minor in Musical Theatre. The theatre program is accredited by NAST and has membership in SETC, USITT, and ACTF. 

Primary responsibilities include the ability to teach a variety of courses in acting (beginning to period style), voice, movement, other courses in support of the theatre program's curriculum, as well as courses that contribute to the University's Civitae Core Curriculum.  The successful candidate should have expertise in many levels of acting training, as well as a strong background in Musical Theatre performance. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to departmental directing duties primarily in the area of musical productions.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting (or equivalent) required
  • Candidates with professional acting experience preferred
  • Experience in teaching acting at the undergraduate level preferred    

Additional Information:

This is a full-time, non-tenure-track, instructional faculty position which will be a one-year, visiting appointment.  Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience.
