Salary for Announcement

The salary range for this position is $93,000 – $96,000 at Assistant Professor rank. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, education, experience, specialty and training.

Position Summary

The Department of Economics at Metropolitan State University of Denver invites applications for a nine-month, full-time tenure track appointment at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 2023. Preferred candidates will have teaching and research interests in at least one of these areas of specialization: monetary economics, money and banking, macroeconomics, economic history, public finance and public choice, and international economics with special emphasis on international business, international political economy, or globalization.

Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the position include a commitment to excellence in:
  • Teaching; teaching assignments may include online courses
  • Student advising
  • Professional development/scholarship which includes the development of intellectual contributions
  • Service to the department, college, university, profession, and community
  • The successful candidate must have a desire to work with a diverse student body, to increase student retention and success, and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in Economics completed by August 15, 2023

Preferred Qualifications

Evidence of teaching excellence and a record of recent refereed publications or comparable intellectual contributions.

Preferred candidates will have teaching and research interests in at least one of these areas of specialization: monetary economics, money and banking, macroeconomics, economic history, public finance and public choice, and international economics with special emphasis on international business, international political economy, or globalization.
