Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the School of Biological Sciences (Ref.: 516748), to commence on or before January 1, 2023 for one year, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in ecology, evolution, conservation biology, or a related field. They should have experience in and a demonstrated track record of genomics research (e.g. bioinformatics, whole genome sequencing), and the ability to work independently.

The appointee will work under the supervision of Dr. Timothy Bonebrake at the Global Change and Tropical Conservation Lab) and the Conservation Forensics group in the School of Biological Sciences. More information can be found at tropicalconslab.com .

The appointee will join a collaborative team studying the ecology and trade of pangolins in Asia and Africa, and work on the research topic of wildlife trade and population genomics. There is also an option for appointee-led projects on the system of their choosing. The Lab has a sample collection of seized and legal wildlife trade products available for investigation and analysis. The appointee will also have the opportunity to teach within the Faculty of Science, and develop best practice in university teaching and learning.
