Responsibilities

Saint Mary's College of California is seeking a skilled Assistant Director of Marketing and Recruitment to provide support to the School of Liberal Art (SOLA) and School of Science (SOS) Graduate and Professional Study Program Directors. This person will report directly to the SOLA Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration. The Assistant Director will be responsible for executing a variety of duties and working with a diverse group of internal and external constituents. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, organized, energetic, detail-oriented, demonstrates sound judgment, and possesses excellent written and oral communication skills. The role requires someone capable of managing their workload and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment. Primary duties include conducting market analysis, and creating and implementing strategic marketing plans. The Assistant Director will also monitor implemented marketing strategies and assess for effectiveness, including applicant response, and track results. Should the need arise, be able to revise plans and strategies to align with enrollment targets. The position will negotiate contracts and payments for ad placement in social media and other platforms. The role also monitors and reports results to GPS SOLA & SOS Program Directors. Develop and maintain alumni outreach and engagement plans for SOLA & SOS GPS Programs, in consultation and collaboration with Alumni Engagement teams.

1. Conduct market analysis, and create and implement strategic marketing strategies. Monitor implemented marketing strategies and assess for effectiveness, including applicant response, and track results. Revise plans and strategies as needed to align with enrollment targets. Negotiate contracts and payments for ad placement in social media and other platforms used by the GPS SOLA & SOS Program Directors.

2. Develop and maintain alumni outreach and engagement plans for SOLA and SOS GPS Programs, in consultation and collaboration with the Alumni Engagement Office, including (1) regular communications to alumni (e.g. alumni newsletters); (2) facilitating student-alumni connection and networking (3) facilitating alumni-alumni connections; (4) collaborating with Program Directors in collecting and curating alumni profiles for web and other communications; (5) facilitating pathways via alumni to internship and employment opportunities for current students.

3. Develop a strategy for and plan recruitment events (Grad fairs, webinars, alumni panels, etc.) for SOLA & SOS GPS programs; be familiar with CRM (with preference for Slate) and appropriate media to market and advertise events for recruitment purposes; work in conjunction with the GPS Admissions Manager to implement such events.

Liaise with central Admissions to coordinate marketing and recruitment events. This position will conduct direct outreach (following up on leads on-campus, off-campus, as well as following up on leads from faculty and Program Directors) to potential students as well as internally recruit students for SOLA, SOS GPS program entry.

4. In consultation with SOLA & SOS GPS Program Directors, develop appropriate and effective recruitment messaging on all websites; audit all program recruitment links; update and monitor program websites for accuracy, and update as needed. Manage and maintain social media platforms by creating, adjusting or modifying current social media accounts to increase traffic, maximize web site visits, and increase student enrollment.

Experience and Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree PREFERRED: Master's Degree

Experience: (years required and applicable field of experience): Minimum of two years of marketing experience in higher education or industry that uses marketing for recruitment purposes. A minimum of (2) years working with databases which includes knowledge of marketing platforms;The ideal candidate will provide examples of created marketing campaigns using direct outreach, social media, hosting events, or evidence of creating successful advertising campaigns.

Skills/Abilities: (e.g. computer skills, written & verbal skills, trades, laws, procedures, technical) Demonstrated excellence in using Google suite, Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and email; ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments and meet demanding deadlines; ability to remain calm under pressure, establish priorities and work in an organized manner with emphasis on detail and accuracy; ability to work independently without close supervision and as a member of a team, seeking consultation when necessary; high level of reliability, creativity and commitment to maintain confidentiality; ability to work cooperatively and effectively with all members of a culturally diverse campus community; understanding of academic policy and administrative operations; ability to cultivate and maintain partnerships with diverse individuals, offices and programs; understanding of and commitment to further the College's mission; ability to respond promptly, kindly, and effectively to the flow of traffic, even during high-volume times when there might be multiple clients in a crowded space expecting a multiplicity of types of service.
