Position Summary:
The Department of Psychology and Communication in the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Idaho invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position as Assistant Professor. We seek candidates who demonstrate excellence in research and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition, we are particularly interested in candidates whose research focuses on topics within the scope of human factors.
The successful candidate will teach four courses per year in human factors, experimental psychology, and other related areas at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. They will also supervise undergraduate and/or graduate student research, as well as conduct research and secure external funding.
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD in human factors psychology, health psychology, experimental psychology, cognitive psychology or other closely related discipline within psychology;
- Experience teaching undergraduate courses and effective advising and mentoring of undergraduate students;
- Experience teaching courses at the graduate level;
- Experience with seeking funding for research;
- Evidence of research;
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff on campus;
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent record of scholarly activity and securing external funding for research;
- Experience with mentoring graduate students;
- Evidence of publication(s) in area of expertise.
