Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Analyst I, Procurement serves as a resource to the Purchasing department for PeopleSoft ERP/Supply Chain Management module. Serves as a lead on resolving issues related to ERP Software. Works closely with the Purchasing department and OTS to resolve issues.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Coordinates functional ERP system set-up requirements for the Supply Chain Module, including researching, monitoring and resolving system related issues
  2. Resolves procurement related issues/problems as they apply to the functionality of procure-to-pay transactions, including requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, receiving, and payments including consultation with IT developers, functional staff and consultants as required
  3. Leads testing for system patches, fixes and system upgrades for the purchasing module, including new releases to make recommendations when a fix or patch needs to be applied for purchasing modules
  4. Provides training and facilitates cross-training of staff
  5. Coordinates functional ERP system set-up requirements for Vendor Punch-Out catalog applications
  6. Creates and maintains commodity code tables
  7. Sets up and inactivates requesters and approvers
  8. Collaborates with Buyers with sourcing module functionality including creating and maintaining bid factors
  9. Researches and creates query reports
  10. Responsible for other related duties as assigned


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of navigation for the procurement process in People Soft ERP
  • Knowledge of the procurement process in a public institution
  • Ability to understand the impact changes to system configuration will have on integrated ERP systems and existing internal and external interfaces
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while still meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work in a collaborative work environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other departments to resolve issues
  • Working knowledge of PC’s and related software (Microsoft Office Suite), and the ability to learn new software
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent customer services skills
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience working with Supply Chain Management concepts
  • Experience working in higher education
  • Knowledge of electronic bidding
  • Knowledge of public procurement processes
Salary

Hiring salary range is $46,300 - $53,245

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
