Early College Specialist

Position Overview & Responsibilities
The Winston School of Education & Social Policy at Merrimack College invites applications for a limited-term, grant-funded position of Early College Specialist. This position will serve as the central coordinator for a grant project to expand early college programming at Merrimack College. This is a full-time, 12-month administrative position, funded by an external grant for the period of July 1, 2022 through June 20, 2023, with an expectation for continuation of funding into a second year (July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate Winston School involvement in the State of Massachusetts’ early college program.
• Work with program director, graduate student and undergraduate students involved in the program to develop and implement programming.
• Compile research on early college effectiveness, and oversee evaluation process for grant program.
• As appropriate, interface with state DESE and DHE on grant activities.
• Oversee the coaching process for the program, as laid out in grant requirements.
• Represent the grant program at early college meetings and other events.
• Coordinate programming and support for the schools and school districts that are part of the planning process.
• Develop documentation and spreadsheets to support the grant program, including interim and final reporting.
• Support expansion of early college and dual enrollment programs.

Qualifications:
Candidates should have a Master’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience working with community partners. Teaching and/or administrative experience in higher education is preferred. Demonstrated strong communication, organizational, technological, and collaboration skills required. Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is expected of all Merrimack College community members. Ability to support a diverse student body, including students from historically underrepresented and underserved groups, as well as a variety of age ranges. Capacity to juggle multiple tasks and manage a wide variety of projects. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Google Suite; database management experience is desired.
