Agnes Scott College invites applications for a full-time faculty position beginning Summer or Fall 2023 to teach both fully in-person courses as well as online courses in its Medical Sciences programs and related post-baccalaureate programs. These programs prepare students for medical school and related health professions.
Competitive candidates will have a terminal degree in a relevant field in the biological sciences and experience teaching a diverse student body in the health sciences. Applicants should be able to teach biology courses in fields related to the medical sciences in the candidate’s specialty among courses including: Medical Cell Biology, Genetics of Human Disease, Cancer Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Immunology, and Research Methods in Biology. Candidates should show evidence of excellent and committed teaching, be able to foster student research, and should demonstrate a commitment to working with a socially and economically diverse student population.
This full-time position will report to the director of the medical sciences program. Each position is a full-time, renewable, non-tenure track, 12 month appointment. Graduate faculty who hold 1 or 2 year appointments are titled, “Visiting,” per college policy. These positions may be renewed (either as visiting or non-visiting), and are eligible for promotion. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Applications should include a cover letter, resume/CV, and names and contact details for 3 professional references. Official transcripts of graduate degrees will be required before hiring is complete.
