The President must be capable of transitioning the University to its next phase of academic excellence and relevance in a continuously and rapidly evolving market for higher education.

Founded in 1897 and nestled in the foothills of the north Georgia Blue Ridge mountains, Piedmont is a comprehensive liberal arts institution offering a variety of career-oriented majors in over 80 academic programs through undergraduate, graduate, and degree completion programs. With its main campus in Demorest, Georgia, and satellite campus in Athens, Piedmont promises it’s 2500+ students an educational experience that is personal in approach, passionate in application, and practical in impact.

The successful candidate should have leadership experience in a higher education (preferred), other non-profit or for-profit organization; a terminal degree or similar significant high-level experience; a record of success in promoting a positive work environment and sustaining efforts to attract and retain a highly qualified and diverse faculty, staff, and student body; demonstrated commitment to diversity and fostering an inclusive community; financial acumen including ability to work with financial challenges and action plans to deliver results; confident and competent leadership including sound, logical decision making, and ability to resolve conflicts; skills necessary to provide vision and plans to continue progress in academics, athletics and university life; proven success with enrollment and retention strategies; demonstrated success in generating revenue; ability to foster and promote partnerships between education and business and industry; and clear communication skills to comfortably and confidently interact with constituencies and ability and desire to promote healing.
