OVERVIEW

The Susan S. Morrison School of Nursing (SON) in the Morrison Family College of Health at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, invites applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor faculty position in nursing beginning in Fall 2023.

We seek applicants who are committed to excellence in teaching at the pre-licensure nursing level and will develop and maintain an active research/scholarship agenda. The successful applicant will teach a range of pre-licensure nursing courses and must have experience in maternal-child nursing practice. In addition, they will advise nursing students and participate in service activities in the school, college, and university. All areas of nursing reseach/scholarship will be considered. We seek candidates who are committed to fostering inclusive learning environments, interested in working as part of an interprofessional college team, and eager to develop a scholarly agenda that engages students in meaningful ways.

The college is comprised of several departments and schools, including the Susan S. Morrison School of Nursing, which was established in 2021.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate Qualifications: 

  • PhD (U.S. or Foreign Equivalent) in Nursing or closely related field, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) (U.S. or Foreign Equivalent); alternatively ABD will also be considered.
  • Alternatively, a candidate with an EdD, PhD in an area unrelated to Nursing is acceptable if the candidate holds a bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Nursing.
  • Must be eligible for RN licensure in the state of Minnesota.
  • Three years of experience in maternal-child nursing practice.
  • Tenure-track faculty without a completed doctorate will have an initial appointment at the rank of Instructor and be eligible for Assistant Professor rank upon completion.
  • Fully vaccincated for COVID-19 or eligible for a legally required exemption such as a medical or religious reason.
