About this Opportunity
We seek candidates with a doctorate in counseling psychology and professional competence in a specialty area to support our growing undergraduate counseling program. There is a preference for applicants who are license-eligible as a Psychologist in Indiana. We seek a highly qualified scholar with the ability to contribute to the department’s scientist-professional training model, with demonstrated research, teaching and mentoring experiences and competencies, preferably at the undergraduate level. Special consideration will be given to candidates who can also contribute to one or more of the graduate programs in the department with ability to mentor students on diversity issues, contribute to the department’s social justice mission, and facilitate immersive learning experiences.

Minimum Qualifications
Earned Doctorate in counseling psychology from APA accredited program by August 2023; ABD candidates will be considered only if all degree requirements will be completed by August 2023. The candidate must demonstrate professional competence in a specialty area within counseling psychology, and interest in teaching undergraduate courses and in teaching assessment.
Authorization to work in the US
Employer will consider sponsorship.

The Department offers a PhD in Counseling Psychology and Master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Psychology, and a dual major in Social Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The Department is also home to undergraduate and graduate minors in Counseling and an undergraduate minor in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution. Given the growth in our undergraduate programming, we are considering proposing an undergraduate major in counseling. Nine full-time faculty, along with adjuncts and graduate assistants, teach about 113 graduate and 238 undergraduate students. The Department has operated a Counseling Practicum Clinic since 1968 for people in Muncie and the surrounding area. Licensed psychologists and counselors supervise counseling and counseling psychology graduate students who serve approximately240 clients (3,200 unique appointments) annually in the College’s Interprofessional Community Clinics. Students and faculty learn and practice skills in state of the art facilities, including interview rooms with digital recording and an interprofessional simulation laboratory.
