A postdoctoral position is available beginning March 2023 for a highly motivated individual to join Dr. Yuxin Wen’s research group in the Fowler School of Engineering at Chapman University. Dr. Wen’s group research interests focus on data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling for quality improvement, and prognostics in complex systems with applications in manufacturing, aerospace, and healthcare. The ideal candidate will have strong data analysis and writing skills, the ability to work collaboratively and independently, and a solid record of publication.

The postdoctoral researcher will conduct independent research and/or collaborate on multiple research projects; provide guidance and support to undergraduate/graduate students associated with the related projects; document research activities and publish key findings in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.

  • Applicants must hold a doctoral or equivalent degree in engineering, computer science, statistics, or related fields by the start date of the appointment.
  • The applicant must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and strong programming skills.
  • Knowledge in statistical data analysis for manufacturing quality control, process monitoring, diagnostics, and prognostics, or research experience in the analysis of medical data are strongly encouraged to apply.

Successful completion of a background check is required for the final candidate. This position is subject to final budget approval. The salary range for this Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is $64,500-$70,000.
