Position Summary

Blackstone LaunchPad , a campus-based entrepreneurship and innovation center, is accepting applications to fill the Design Challenges Coordinatorposition focused on Design Challenges hosted in collaboration with industry partners, faculty, staff, and alumni.

The Programming coordinator will lead and manage our portfolio of Design Challenges with a focus on defining success metrics and learning outcomes, recruiting participants, and ensuring a high quality experience across all of our Design Challenges and services. The Program Manager will also have the opportunity to research, develop, and launch new Design Challenges based on student feedback, campus needs, and industry partner needs.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:
  • Cultivate relationships with industry partners, university faculty, staff, and alumni to establish partnerships to Design Challenge.
  • In collaboration with partners identify and refine the Design Challenge statements.
  • Identify learning outcomes that align with NACE competencies, entrepreneurial skills and mindsets embraced by UB’s LaunchPad.
  • Cultivate relationships with partners identify and curate industry partners and alumni to serve as mentors and judges for these Design Challenges.
  • Coordinate Blackstone LaunchPad competitions to support student entrepreneurs.
  • Manage Blackstone LaunchPad’s Ecosystem Builder Program.
This position would be ideal for someone who values autonomy, impacting the lives of young people through education, and working in a small, dynamic, and collaborative team environment. This position would be a great transitional jump for those coming from educational backgrounds and/or program manager positions in the startup and innovation ecosystem (incubators, accelerators, etc.). Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience, or Master’s degree.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team
  • Ability to assess workload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines to successfully manage
  • concurrent projects for multiple areas with accuracy
  • Ability to learn quickly and be flexible
  • Ability to undertake and complete tasks with minimal supervision and demonstrate individual initiative
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education, program development, and/or supporting college bound students.
  • Experience with learning design and assessment
  • Experience with marketing communications and outreach activities.
  • Demonstrated interest in technology, startups, entrepreneurship, innovation, venture capital, etc.
