The Department of Biology and Biomedical Sciences at Salve Regina University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Anatomy and Physiology with a start date of September 1, 2023. This individual will primarily teach Anatomy and Physiology lectures and laboratories for first-year students in the Nursing Program. The successful candidate must have minimally earned an MS degree in a related area of biology (or other relevant terminal degree) by the time of hire. A Ph.D. or other terminal degree and teaching experience are preferred but not mandatory.

The teaching load for this position is 26 contact hours per academic year (3 sections of Anatomy and Physiology lecture and 2 sections of Anatomy and Physiology lab in both the fall and spring semesters). The successful candidate will also serve the role of lead coordinator for the Anatomy and Physiology course. In this capacity, the successful candidate will communicate regularly with the Laboratory Coordinator and Adjunct Faculty teaching additional lab sections in order to ensure a consistent, robust laboratory experience for all students in the course. Salve Regina University has state-of-the-art teaching laboratories and access to specialized equipment including two Anatomage tables for 3D anatomy and virtual dissection, BIOPAC systems, student benches with portable vents for dissection and an array of models.

The successful candidate will also be expected to attend departmental meetings and participate in departmental initiatives such as curricular revisions and strategies for outreach and recruitment (e.g. social media presence, virtual and on-campus events).
