Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Director and Managers of Student Financial Services (SFS), this position facilitates on-going support for functional aspects of SFS systems and infrastructure including PeopleSoft CMS Student Administration, PeopleSoft CFS (Finance), and third-party systems such as CASHNet (Transact Payments), T2 Parking System, StarRez, ELMOne, CSAC, ECSI, and collection agency portals. This position also provides analytical and administrative support to process, develop, improve, and implement departmental processes within SFS.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provides on-going support for functional aspects of SFS systems and infrastructure including PeopleSoft CMS Student Administration, PeopleSoft CFS (Finance), and third-party systems such as CASHNet (Transact Payments), T2 Parking System, StarRez, ELMOne, CSAC, ECSI, and collection agency portals.
  • Provides analytical and administrative support to develop, improve, and implement departmental processes within Student Financial Services that includes the processing, reviewing, and preparation of monthly/year-end accounting reconciliations and analytical reports.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Experience with PeopleSoft Student Administration and Finance modules is strongly preferred. Experience with CASHNet (Transact Payments) payments platform is strongly preferred. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel is strongly preferred. Understanding of and ability to apply project management techniques. The ability to coordinate many different project tasks, determine relative importance of each, prioritize, and set appropriate deadlines to meet and complete all tasks accordingly. Apply independent judgment, discretion, and initiative in performing job responsibilities.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques of customer service, and provide direction and training to staff to facilitate effective and quality service to the campus community, which includes interaction with students, faculty and staff. Strong accounting skills and knowledge of financial record-keeping methods, governmental financial record-keeping methods and generally accepted accounting principles is strongly preferred. Thorough knowledge and expertise in analyzing accounting journal entry problems and complexities associated with automated financial accounting/student systems and PC software. Includes skill in the collection, evaluation, reviewing all phases of accounting reports, and interpretation of data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Ability to investigate and analyze operational needs in order to write and develop procedures meeting the needs of campus, CSU system, State and Federal requirements. Ability to train others on business processes and provide lead work direction.

Education and Experience
  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and fours years of related experience required.
  • Three years of accounting and systems experience preferred.

Compensation

The target salary is $7,084 per month based on experience.

The salary range for this classification is $5,022 to $9,083 per month.
