We are seeking an Associate Director of Summer Admissions who will report to the Executive Director of Enrollment Services and Student Success and will work in close partnership with key stakeholders to support and manage all aspects of the summer admissions process with special emphasis on identifying new target markets and increasing funnel yield through data driven decision making. A successful candidate will provide key insight into how best to serve international and domestic markets. The Associate Director: analyzes trends in data; oversees summer admissions and enrollment operations; develops and maintains targeted communication flows and manages the student experience through the application and post admit portal.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Supervising

  • Leads admissions and enrollment team.
  • Holds weekly meetings and provides clear updates.
  • Collaborates with the team to set a clear path forward to ensure the highest level of customer service.
  • Approves time-off to ensure staffing needs are met.
  • Establishes clear paths for team professional development.

Strategic Enrollment

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders on strategic direction, marketing, and recruitment efforts and provides support and follow-through of new initiatives.
  • Manage all aspects of the admissions and registration process for 3,000+ enrollments.
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to distribute over $100k in funding to students who identify a financial need.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive enrollment management strategy targeting Pre-college and visiting undergraduate students.
  • Oversee enrollment and monitor registration of over 12 pre-college program and over 100 visiting undergraduate courses with an eye for trends and outliers.
  • Identify and collect key data point through the Slate Application to determine student trends.
  • Develop and execute recruitment and outreach strategy through Slate.
  • Serves as Admissions office liaison with the Executive Director for the Office of Summer and Intersession programs.
  • Compile research data and materials to prepare reports, proposals, and summaries.
  • Serves as the escalation point of contact for prospective students, third party vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Design, implement, and execute a new domestic recruitment and outreach strategy that will influence and increase applications and admits from international students that are US based.
  • Enhance successful recruitment and outreach efforts to increase interest from prospective international students, parents, and other key influencers.

Data, Processing, And Communication Management

  • Manage progress on existing technical efforts underway - new functionality, improvements, other initiatives affecting graduate admissions.
  • Identify needed updates and plan for annual maintenance work.
  • Develop and build reports to analyze trends, update leadership, and to fulfill ad-hoc requests.
  • Works to keep Slate and SIS congruent with evolving AAP programs, and spearheads development of new functionalities. Creates JIRA requests and responds to requests for. intra-divisional data in Confluence (the SIS reporting systems). Primary office contact and information source for the JHU D3 (Data Warehouse) initiative.

Special Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Strong technical aptitude and experience with database systems and the production of reports.
  • Demonstrated aptitude with technology and software, including advanced skills with MS Word, mail merge, and Excel.
  • Ability to maintain and help develop email communications to prospective students and current students.
  • Ability to serve as liaison with other departments within organization.
  • Ability to travel; ability to multi-task, and to demonstrate excellent judgment in complex situations.
  • Excellent customer service and communications skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, to work independently, to work with a diverse clientele.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Five years progressively responsible related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree.
  • Seven to ten years related experience required.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Computer and database literacy.
  • Knowledge of FERPA compliance.
  • Previous experience working with international undergraduate students.
  • Extensive knowledge with admission processed.
  • Knowledge of CRMs and other supportive databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and surpass enrollment goals.
  • Knowledge of trends in domestic and international high school students.

Starting Salary Range: $54,080 - $74,390 (Commensurate with experience)
