General Information

Chapman University seeks applications for a Part-Time Lecturer of Civil Procedure Practice Lab for the Spring 2023 semester. Successful candidates will teach one 1-unit section of the required 1L course, Civil Procedure Practice Lab.

Qualifications

JD degree from an ABA accredited law school and a successful background in civil litigation.

Responsibilities

Teach one section of Civil Procedure Practice Lab. Civil Procedure Practice Lab is a small-section course that focuses on the application of principles learned in Civil Procedure I and Civil Procedure II. Students will engage the material as attorneys representing the parties to the dispute. They will apply the rules of litigation (the statutes set forth in the United States Code, the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, judicial decisions of various federal courts and the civil local rules for the local federal court – the Unites States District Court for the Central District of California) to move the litigation forward in the manner most favorable for the client and to respond to the demands of litigation imposed by adversaries. The class meets every other week (7 weeks total) from 6:00pm-7:40pm on either Wednesday or Thursday.
