North Platte - South Campus
Mid-Plains Community College is seeking a Director
of Advising. An ideal candidate for this position needs a high
level of rapport with students of all ages, the ability to lead and
partner with multiple teams, a strong understanding of technology,
implementation, and systems, and the ability to foster student
success and retention. This role regularly travels between North
Platte, McCook and Community Campuses advising students area-wide.
· Advising students on program, transfer, and graduation
· Assisting with educational and career goal setting
· Updating and managing the Advising Module, Degree Plans, Advising
Manual, and related web content.
· Supervising Advising team and providing leadership and team
development of the South Campus Welcome Center.
· On-boarding students of all backgrounds and programs
· Partnering on Advising related retention and outreach
Mid-Plains Community College, a legislatively designated 18-county
service area in West-Central Nebraska, is a comprehensive, open
access, public, two-year community college system that offers
associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. MPCC consists of
three main campuses, one located in McCook, Nebraska and two
located in North Platte, Nebraska. Additionally, there are
community campus sites in Broken Bow, Imperial, Ogallala and
Valentine with satellite classrooms located throughout the Area.

Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s preferred, a minimum of two
years experience in higher education is also preferred
