The Administrative Assistant will provide general administrative support to Falk College Office of Academic Affairs. The Administrative Assistant will be cross-trained in the database, technology, administrative and academic functions of the Academic Affairs Office to assist with and assure continuity of function and services. Position will allow for up to two days of remote work, if so desired.

Four-year degree or Associate’s degree and 3-5 years administrative work experience, preferably in an academic environment. Job Specific Qualifications
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel required), and the ability and willingness to learn new programs quickly.
  • Previous PeopleSoft knowledge is helpful.
  • Candidates for the position will exhibit good judgment, confidentiality, professionalism, initiative, and follow-through.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities
  • Main support to the Academic Operations Manager (Sr. Administrator to the Sr. Assoc. Dean for Academic Affairs) in essential office functions including:
  • Work in collaboration with the Academic Operations Manager to facilitate and maintain the Falk College internship contract process and database (Tevera system).
  • Act as point person for all data entry within the database.
  • Maintain detailed record keeping and facilitate processing of internship contracts via university and college processes.
  • Responsible for falkcontracts@syr.edu email responses to internal and external constituencies.
  • Provide back-up coverage for administrative work with the Falk Curriculum committee and data entry to the Curriculog system when needed.
  • Compile and process graduate award letters under the direction of the Academic Operations Manager.
  • Yearly review and maintenance of Academic Affairs webpage and Answers page.
  • Data entry of Remitted tuition benefit into the PeopleSoft system for Falk College.
  • Support for Sr. Associate Dean for Academic Affairs as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
