The Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME: https://bme.umass.edu) at UMass Amherst is
seeking one junior faculty position at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor in the broad
area of Biomedical Engineering in synergy with the overall department and campus teaching and
research missions. The Department has outstanding research programs in the areas of
Biomechanics, Biomaterials, and Bioinstrumentation. The department includes broad
opportunities for collaboration within and outside of the department. The appointment is
expected to begin September 1, 2023.

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or related fields. The
candidate must have the interest and ability to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate
levels; supervise graduate students and postdoctoral fellows; contribute significantly to the
advancement of science and engineering; develop a nationally recognized program of sponsored
research; and have a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
