The Department of Construction Management (CM) at the University of Houston (UH) is seeking candidates for two (2) 9-month full-time lecturer positions (i.e., Professor of Practice, non-tenure-track) for the CM undergraduate program. The anticipated start date is January 16, 2023. The selected candidates are expected to teach four undergraduate courses per semester and participate or lead curriculum effort such as internship program, industry relations, and student competitions. The application reviews will be conducted continuously until the two positions are filled. With its vision to be “the industry’s university program”, UH CM is dedicated to preparing industry-ready graduates, offering practical curriculum to students and working professionals, and conducting applied and academic research.

The CM program has an approximate enrollment of 800 undergraduate and graduate students. It has over 200 industry partners in its industry advisory boards and approved internship employer program. The Process & Industrial construction program was recognized for the Spirit of ECC award for its contribution to the industrial construction sector. The CM program is a designated STEM program and is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE). The CM program is currently housed at the UH Main Campus with the planned transition to the new facilities at the UH at Sugar Land, an instructional site of the UH Main Campus, in 2024. Qualifications :

Candidates must have earned a master’s degree in construction engineering and management, or related fields, such as Construction Science, Civil Engineering, and Architectural Engineering, along with a minimum five (5) years relevant construction industry experience. Candidates must command excellent written and oral communication skills. Higher education teaching experience preferred.
