Technical Community College (GTCC) is currently the fourth largest
of N.C. Community College System's 58 institutions. On our six

strategic, innovative, and transformational leader for our Human
Resources Specialist position to join our team and operationalize
our institutional mission, vision, and values to build our learning
community further.
Provides specialized technical support and administrative services to the Human Resources department in the areas of employee electronic file set-up and maintenance, record keeping, employee onboarding (new employee orientation), statistical reports (NCCCS Staff Information, IPEDS, BLS, etc.), employee contracts, and special projects. Provides other support services regarding benefits administration, employee verification of employment (VOEs), general filing and office duties, employee relations, etc. Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) on HR related statistical reports, works in collaboration with IT Programmer(s) while providing direction on all HR related data, mnemonics, etc. Also serves as the lead HR Specialist and functions in the key role of trainer for other HR staffers, new administrative personnel (as relates to hiring documentation especially with respect to part-time positions)
Education Required:
Associate degree in office technology, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred; will consider high school diploma with combination of significant relevant experience

- Computer skills with experience in Microsoft software such as Word & Excel required
- Prior Information Systems (HRIS) experience
Experience Preferred:
- Experience with Outlook preferred
- Experience with Ellucian (aka Datatel/Collegaue) software strongly preferred
- Experience with preparation of IPEDS and NCCCS Staff Information reports strongly preferred
- Prior work experience in Human Resources highly preferred
