Job Duties:
The Library Assistant will provide administrative support to the library faculty and staff and will perform tasks as needed in areas throughout the library. The person in this position will work 7:30 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.

  • Assists the library director, library faculty, and library staff with administrative tasks
  • Coordinates the purchase, delivery, and storage of office supplies
  • Processes and organizes purchase orders, work orders, travel requests, and leave requests
  • Submits and follows up on maintenance and custodial cleaning requests
  • Organizes and maintains library files, both print and electronic
  • Records and disseminates minutes of library meetings
  • Maintains inventory and condition of library furniture, computers, and other technologies
  • Receives and schedules room reservations submitted by the university community
  • Creates and distributes official library calendar
  • Updates library signage
  • Serves as hospitality coordinator for the library
  • Serves as liaison to maintenance, mail services, copier vendor, and food vendors
  • Assists in processing books in the Technical Services area
  • Staffs the Library Service Desk
  • Participates in stacks maintenance as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience in working with the public
