Responsible for assisting with application updates, print server management and maintenance, and software monitoring solutions. This role will help with installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and maintenance of endpoint software and operating systems, printing, print server configuration, and print management. Proactively address problems, contribute to developing maintenance policies and procedures and participate in change management.


  1. Develop and demonstrate multicultural awareness and contribute to cultivating an inclusive, diverse, and respectful College community. Demonstrate civil and inclusive behavior when interacting with staff, faculty, students, and visitors to the College.
  2. Promote a flexible, collaborative, and inclusive work and living environment and engage in educational opportunities to increase awareness and understanding of diversity and inclusion.
  3. Participate in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of IT (Information Technology) services at Ithaca College.
  4. Assess faculty and students' needs each semester and deploy software packages and technical tools needed.
  5. Assist with endpoint systems upgrades.
  6. Manage and support printing, print management and print server configuration.
  7. Assist with endpoint configuration management using mobile device management applications such as Microsoft Intune and Jamf Pro.
  8. Use tools to monitor and report on software usage across the enterprise.
  9. Automate processes and procedures using scripting and tools.
  10. Collaborate with other IT staff to assist with configuration and troubleshooting enterprise and client applications.
  11. Document detailed, accurate and complete step by step instructions for technical tasks. Follow and improve on written workflow processes and policies.
  12. Continue to develop skill set by taking time to learn new skills, attend training classes, and participate in presenting new skills and implementations to others.


Associate degree in computer science or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience supporting, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with enterprise systems and applications. Experience automating common operational tasks. Knowledge of Mac and Windows operating systems, security, and networking principles in an enterprise environment.

Preferred experience: General understanding of imaging and image creation methodologies; including MDM zero touch concepts, network/PXe boot imaging. Fundamental Active Directory experience including computer, group objects, OU structure and Group policy. General understanding of deployment concepts and tools. JAMF Pro or other Apple MDM for macs, MECM for windows. Print and printer management. Experience with operating system patch management and resolving security vulnerabilities. Experience with Microsoft Intune and Azure, TeamDynamix or other enterprise ticketing systems, Sassafras software asset management, Papercut print management. PowerShell, any Linux shell. Linux systems administration.


Most of the work of the incumbent is carried out within a generally accessible, safe, indoor environment; hybrid work options are also available. Then the incumbent will be required to use a personal computer and associated equipment as well as other office equipment used in the day-to-day operations.
