Position Summary

The Division of Accounting, Finance, MIS, and Economics in the College of Business at Governors State University seeks applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Business Analytics and Management Information Systems beginning in August 2023.

The successful candidate will be qualified to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in Business Analytics and Management Information Systems. Teaching may include coursework in Business Analytics, Database, Project Management, Spreadsheet Analysis, and other courses in the MS in Business Analytics program and undergraduate MIS concentration, as well as other MIS courses such as Management information Systems. Experience with other advanced modeling techniques such as machine learning is also preferred. The candidate should also be proficient in coding and tools such as Python, SQL, R, spreadsheet, data visualization tools, and ability to learn or apply other related software as needed.

We seek candidates with outstanding teaching skills, interest in non-traditional and diverse student populations, ability or interest in teaching high quality remote or online courses, a collegial approach to working with colleagues, interest in continuing professional development in innovative areas related to analytics, interest in developing curriculum, evidence or a potential for distinguished scholarship consistent with tenure-track and AACSB expectations for Scholarly Academic faculty, and evidence or potential for substantive professional and university service.

Minimum Qualifications

-PhD or DBA in Information Systems or a related area from an AACSB accredited school. ABD will be considered if the doctoral degree is expected to be completed by position start date.
-Experience teaching information systems or business analytics coursework.
-Ability to write and publish in professional or academic journals.
-Applicant must meet AACSB standards for scholarship as “Scholarly Academic (SA)”.
