Position Summary

Governors State University’s AACSB accredited College of Business seeks applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Business Analytics and Management Information Systems beginning in January 2023. This is a partial year appointment covering spring and summer terms in 2023 (January through August). Visiting Assistant Professors will be appointed for a specific period of time. This temporary faculty position’s primary duties will emphasize teaching responsibilities in Management Information Systems and Business Analytics, including project management, management information systems, business analytics, database management, python, sql/introductory database management, or other courses.

Although this position is not tenure-track and not a part of the faculty bargaining unit, it may be an ideal position for an ABD candidate to obtain significant teaching experience prior to going into the tenure track market. There is a separate position posting for a tenure track position that will begin the following academic year in Aug. 2023. Eligible applicants are encouraged to apply to both positions.

Minimum Qualifications

-PhD/ DBA or ABD in Management Information Systems or a related field
-Meets AACSB qualifications for Scholarly Academic (SA) or Practice Academic (PA)
-Teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

-PhD in Management Information Systems or a related field
-Teaching experience at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
-Experience teaching online.
