Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Associate Director of College Health Administration takes lead on all student health needs including being the liaison to, and advocate for, student medical needs at Norton Medical Center. These individual coordinates and manages all aspects associated with student health including but not limited to, immunization records, choosing College sponsored student health insurance, and disseminating information regarding State health/health insurance requirements to students/parents and colleagues collaborates on health and wellness programming and oversees student EMT group.
This individual also disseminates pertinent local, state, and federal public health guidance for managing situations within the campus community, as the campus health administrator.
  • Clinical Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of student health record and immunization compliance and collection. Sit within Norton Medical Center ( NMC ), and act as a conduit between students and medical professionals, aiding students in accessing care, referrals for specialists, follow up on medical needs and collaborate as part of medical team. Follow up on students with health concerns are part of student of concern team. Coordinate with NMC and external contractors to fill gaps in needed medical services, such as flu & immunization clinics, GYN, nutrition counseling and STI testing.
  • Administrative Responsibilities: Collect data regarding NMC utilization, and services. Assist and collaborate with SFS and Business Services in solidifying student health insurance plan’s options and coverage, implementing plan, and managing waiver/enrollment issues. Work directly with Director and NMC / Sturdy Hospital Leadership to strengthen the relationship between the College and contractual health services. Manage and address concerns with NMC care. Take lead on planning for and responding to any public health crises on campus (ex: meningitis). Aid in management of budget.
  • Committee Responsibilities: Represent health services by attending institutional committees and meetings: CARE / BIT ; Student Wellness, Risk Assessment and Emergency Preparedness teams, as well as other committees as deemed. Serve as a consultant to the Meal Plan Accommodation Committee, Housing Accommodation Committee.
  • Public Health Awareness Responsibilities: Maintain communication with local and state health agencies as necessary and disseminate important public health information, alerts and requirements to campus as appropriate. Keep up to date on all state and federal regulations regarding health insurance, immunizations and any public health concerns. Communicate to community in timely and ongoing way regarding safety practices and health promotion (i.e.: flu season, EEE, public health outbreaks on campus etc.) Take leadership in planning and execution of aspects of public health planning and response.
  • Health Education and Training: Serve as the liaison with Residential Life and Academic Affairs on the Health and Wellness living learning community. Provide BASICS and CASICS assessments through the conduct system to students sanctioned and report back to the Dean of Student’s Office. Work within Counseling and Health Services as well as collaborate with other campus offices including human resources to provide medically accurate and appropriate educational materials and outreach programming throughout the academic year. Aid in management of Averi product, including Alcohol EDU programming.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for the role.
Minimum Qualifications:

BSN or LPN with 3+years of administrative duties

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters in Public Health, Masters in Healthcare Administration, Masters in Social work, or other applicable degree with direct experience within health care administration and leadership roles (RN etc.).
