Summary/Objective

This position is responsible for providing collaborative support of all activities related to AU Central’s operations including administrative businessfunctions and student service functions.

Duties include but are not limited to: monitoring and reconciling Staff Assistant purchasing card, day to day oversight of supplies and office equipment, records retention, coordinating logistics for events/meetings, providing notary services, verification and certification of enrollment,, administrative support for first time nondegree registration, administrative support for student health insurance waiver and enrollement process, sorting and distributing mail, technology support for the office and other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions
  1. Student Support Services: Provide administrative support for the first-time non-degree process. Collaborate with academic units and the AU Central Assistant Director to ensure timely processing of applications. Obtain and maintain DC Notary credential. Provide notary services to students, faculty and staff of AU. Provide administrative support for student health insurance waiver process. Research and provide certification and verification of enrollment and degree requests from current students and alums. Confirm details in Colleague and provide requested documentation for customer. Loan Deferment and background checks on behalf of current and former students.
  2. Day to Day Operations and Management: Monitor, inventory and order supplies for AU Central, calling for services (2FIX, HelpDesk, Facilities), screening and distributing mail, planning and coordinating events, including conference travel for AU Central staff, and update and maintain Student Services Coordinator policies and procedures documentation.
  3. Budget Administration: Process purchase orders/invoices/disbursement requests, travel expense reports, and other financial and procedural functions. Manage and reconcile Staff Assistant purchase card and account.
  4. Technology Support: Responsible for AU’s document retention process. Provide technology support for AU Central staff.
  5. Other Duties as Assigned.

Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years of administrative and customer service experience, preferably in student service area.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working in a higher education institution
  • Experience with Colleague Student Information System
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Good customer service and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be a team player and have the ability to collaborate with staff members from numerous departments.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Intermediate knowledge of personal computer systems and other technology tools such as Microsoft Office applications
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
