Job Summary

This position will work with the Dean to develop and implement a comprehensive professional development plan for new and returning graduate students in addition to supporting the student service staff in the college. In addition, this position will manage and supervise the student support activities of the College to ensure that quality approaches are taken to support the graduate student enterprise.

Responsibilities
  • Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University
  • Train, manage, and evaluate professional Staff and Student Assistants
  • Provide leadership and support for initiatives to support graduate students
  • Make recommendations to improve or modify policies and procedures that serve to improve student success, retention, and graduation
  • Participate in planning and managing graduate studies participation in university-wide events
  • Participate in College events
  • As part of the college leadership, work collaboratively with all graduate studies team members
  • Seek solutions for issues encountered by graduate students and with faculty working with graduate students
  • Assist with data collection, data analysis, and creation of reports
  • Design, deliver, and maintain programs and special events aimed at student success, retention, progression, and graduation
  • Deliver workshops/training sessions for graduate faculty and advisors
  • Serve on University and statewide committees as appropriate to facilitate student success and academic progression
  • Provide leadership and Academic Affairs representation on committees that address student success through academic policy, advisement, orientation, and enrollment services improvements
  • Assist in development and implementation of a shared vision and strategic plan the College


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Master's Degree

Required Experience
  • Five (5) or more years of related work experience


Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
  • Doctoral Degree

Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with graduate students
  • Background working with co-curricular programs specific to graduate education
  • Supervisory experience
