Old Dominion University invites applications for four full-time public health faculty positions in the School of Community and Environmental Health.

Two positions (F0963A1, F0421A1) are for tenure-track assistant professors in the area of public health – health services administration. Primary responsibilities for these two positions will be in the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences (BSHS) Program and the Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) Program. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the Master of Public Health (MPH) and PhD programs.

The third position (F0876A1) is for a tenure-track assistant professor in the area of health disparities/health equity/environmental justice. Primary responsibilities for this position will be in the MPH program. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the PhD program and assist with the development of a new Center.

The fourth position (F0914A1) is for a non-tenure track faculty member whose primary responsibilities will be in the BSHS and BSPH programs. Primary responsibilities will involve undergraduate teaching and internship/practicum advising.

Incoming tenure-track assistant professors will be expected to maintain an active program of scholarship, teaching, service, and practice. The non-tenure track faculty member will be expected to maintain an active program of teaching, advising, and applied/practice based research projects. All ranks are commensurate with qualifications. All four positions report to the Chair of the School of Community and Environmental Health in the College of Health Sciences http://www.hs.odu.edu

All tenure track assistant professor candidates must have a terminal degree in public health or a closely related field; an emerging scholarly publication record in health services administration or health disparities/health equity/environmental justice; a research program with the potential for external funding; experience teaching university-level courses that address in some form the topics of health services administration or health disparities/health equity/environmental justice; excellent oral and written communication skills; and strong professional references.

All non-tenure track faculty position candidates must have a terminal degree in public health or a closely related field; experience teaching university-level courses related to public health – health services administration; demonstrated experience with student advisement or internships; applied/practice-based research project experience; excellent oral and written communication skills; and strong professional references.

Additional preferred qualifications for the positions: experience with distinct teaching delivery formats such as using hybrid and online formats; experience teaching diverse student populations and non-traditional students; familiarity with CEPH, AUPHA or other relevant accreditation/certification processes; experience with student recruitment and marketing; and demonstrated practice, community, or professional service.
