Department Summary
In 2023, the Center for the Study of Women in Society will be celebrating its 50th anniversary. We have begun planning for what we anticipate will be a significant development effort that will include the following:

  • A keynote speaker.
  • A symposium that will bring CSWS alumnae to campus to talk about feminist research and activism.
  • A feminist film festival.
  • Related events, exhibits, and fundraising activities.

    The project coordinator will oversee the planning and administration of our 50th anniversary events, fundraising activities, and donor development campaign to advance the Center's mission.
    Position Summary
    Duties and responsibilities include collaboratively planning and coordinating anniversary events; collaboratively developing related exhibits and coordinating them with the JSMA, UO Libraries, the EMU, and community organizations; supervising interns working on aspects of anniversary programming; creating and/or updating donor and alumni databases, fundraising letters, and aspects of program evaluation (i.e. outcomes/outputs of CSWS); data analysis and reporting; and prospective donor research and cultivation.

    The coordinator will reach out to and collaborate with project stakeholders such as UO Development, the Provost's Office, ASUO Women's Center, WGSS, and community partners. The coordinator will also assist our media relations staff with developing and producing publicity materials, publications, videos, and other assets related to the 50th anniversary.

    The project coordinator position is a limited two-year appointment at 0.5 FTE.
    Minimum Requirements
  • Four years of experience as an executive assistant, administrative analyst, researcher or administrative officer which included administrative duties, provision of technical assistance, or operations review. Two of the required years must have included administration or oversight of an on-going project or program.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration or a closely-related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience. There is no substitution for the two years of administrative experience.
    Professional Competencies
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative suites, and audiovisual production tools.
    Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Research experience
  • Professional experience in media relations, exhibit development, and/or audiovisual production
  • Experience with large event planning, community organizing, and/or organizational development
