SUNY FREDONIA

VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION

The State University of New York Fredonia seeks a Vice President of Finance and Administration (VPFA) to provide strategic leadership over the college's fiscal management and Division of Finance & administration. The start date is negotiable, but ideally the VPFA will begin by January 2023.

SUNY Fredonia is a comprehensive, selective, public, residential, liberal arts university located in beautiful Western New York, just minutes from Lake Erie. It is home to over 80 majors and 50 minors in education, visual and performing arts, business, humanities, and the natural and social sciences.

SUNY Fredonia is at a crucial period, working to rebuild enrollment and align resources with strategic priorities that require strong leadership, vision, and oversight in these areas, in partnership with the executive leadership team, to ensure the college continues an upward trajectory during difficult economic times and secure a strong future for the institution. As a member of the President's Cabinet, the VPFA will be positioned to effect change and influence policies. As a manager of crucial operations areas, the VPFA will provide leadership to the FInance and Administration team. An understanding of the public sector/unions is vital for success.

The VPFA leads a division of approximately 300 employees in ensuring fiscal management and facilities management across the institution. In addition, the VPFA oversees the Faculty Student Association--the auxiliary services corporation with responsibility for food service, vending, and bookstore operations.

The VPFA must have an MBA or a Master's degree in finance, business, or related area from an accredited institution (a CPA is preferred); significant experience with long-range strategic financial and facilities planning; and a demonstrated commitment to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. For other required and preferred qualifications, as well as more information on the position and application instructions, see the profile.
