Job Description:

The University of Florida is currently accepting applications for an Open Rank, Tenure Track Professor of School Psychology and central member of a forthcoming multi-disciplinary, university-wide center intended to promote the healthy development and well-being of youth through prevention and intervention research and engagement with youth, families, schools, and communities. This is a 9-month position with research, teaching, and service as primary responsibilities within an APA-accredited and CAEP/NASP-approved School Psychology Program. The ideal candidate will contribute leadership to the forthcoming center and collaborate with affiliated faculty, students, and staff.

Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to conduct a program of research that will lead to an exceptional and sustainable record of scholarship and external funding, or, depending on rank, already have an established record of such. Areas of scholarship and funding should complement and extend current programs of research within the forthcoming center and School Psychology Program. Applicants must be committed to advancing knowledge, research-based practices, and scientific training that promote children and adolescents’ healthy development and well-being in contexts that connect youth, families, schools and communities. For example, we are particularly interested in expanding the forthcoming center’s research portfolio pertaining to health and educational disparities. Applicants must also demonstrate a commitment to achieving collective impact through partnerships with youth, families, schools, and communities for research, training, and service.
Applicants will be expected to maintain a well-developed systematic line of research and scholarly publications, pursue and obtain external funding, work collaboratively with colleagues by contributing to the vision and mission of the School Psychology Program and forthcoming center, and teach courses and recruit and mentor doctoral students and post-doctoral associates. Responsibilities could also include serving on college, community, statewide, and national committees or boards. Successful applicants will be an integral part of the School Psychology Program, College of Education, and forthcoming center, including a highly talented and collaborative transdisciplinary team of faculty, post-doctoral associates, faculty affiliates, staff, and students who have a vision to work collaboratively to elevate the impact of their work to benefit youth, children, and families locally, nationally, and internationally.

This 9-month, tenure-track faculty appointment will begin in August, 2023. The School Psychology Program is housed within the School of Special Education, School Psychology, and Early Childhood Studies (SESPECS) in the College of Education. Expected Salary:

Salary is negotiable, competitive, and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

An earned doctorate in school psychology or closely related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• A strong record of: (a) research and scholarly writing; (b) success in seeking, securing and/or administering external grants or contracts as related to rank; (c) evidence of successful teaching at the university level; (d) mentoring doctoral students, post-doctoral associates, and junior colleagues; (e) transdisciplinary scientific collaborations; and (f) service and outreach to the school psychology community (or closely related field).
