Position Responsibilities:
VCU's School of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutics invites you to apply for our Postdoctoral Fellow position! The successful candidate will lead and participate in research projects in one or multiple areas of:
1) discovery and engineering of nucleic acid therapeutics and vaccines (e.g., mRNA, ADAR-based base editing guide RNA, immunomodulatory oligo DNA/RNA);
2) development of novel delivery systems of nucleic acid therapeutics and vaccines;
3) therapeutic-vaccine-based combination immunotherapy of cancer (e.g., glioma, melanoma, and breast cancer);
4) prophylactic and therapeutic vaccines for infectious diseases (e.g., COVID-19, flu, RSV).
Required Qualifications:
- PhD degree or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, bioengineering, medical sciences and related fields.
- Previous research experience and publications in one or multiple areas of nucleic acid therapeutics and vaccines, gene editing, drug delivery, cancer immunotherapy, and infectious disease vaccine development.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment, or commitment to do so as an employee at VCU.
