Summary
This position will be responsible for conducting study research activities and coordinating administrative research tasks. The research coordinator duties include (but are not limited to) recruitment of patients as participants, conducting baseline and follow-up assessments in the hospital and the community, implementing and developing innovative participant retention strategies, data collection, data entry and cleaning, database development, literature reviews, managing the grant budget(s)/finances, supporting cohesion of administrative and research tasks, scheduling research-related meetings and training, maintaining research protocol compliance, ensuring research staff remain up to date on certifications, scheduling meetings, coordinating with participants for follow-up assessments and payments, supporting research staff in their duties, coordinating travel arrangements for research team, assisting with grant preparation, submission, and pre- and post-award management, and the preparation and management of all regulatory documentation (e.g., IRB). These positions require working in rotation on the weekends and some evenings. The candidate should be comfortable working independently in the hospital setting, specifically in the emergency department and surgical trauma intensive care unit (STICU) with youth victims of violence and their caregivers. The candidate will work with research staff, IVPP programmatic staff, and healthcare staff and patients.
Required Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field
Experience working with youth and caregivers
Experience preparing reports and present scientific findings
Experience prioritizing, organizing and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously
Proficient with Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to handle fluctuating priorities and deadlines
Must be organized, responsible, punctual, with ability to pay close attention to details
Strong interpersonal skills and proven leadership abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Knowledge of federal, state, and private sources for grant funds.
Typical Physical and Cognitive Requirements:
3+ years of relevant experience is desirable
Master’s degree in related field (e.g., psychology)
Proficiency in use of statistical packages (e.g., SPSS) and proficiency in navigating and maintaining databases (e.g., REDCap)
Experience conducting clinical interviews and neurocognitive assessments
Those with experience/interest in forensic/clinical psychology and intervention research are strongly encouraged to apply
Experience working administratively in a hospital environment.
Salary Range: $15-$25/hour
