Internal Medicine/Cardiology

Position Responsibilities:

• Conduct of molecular biology experiments including western blots, PCR, enzyme analysis, and immunohistochemistry
• Assist in animal handling; mice and rabbits
• Maintain rabbits, and feed them high fat diets, monitor body weight an blood glucose levels
• Maintain the mouse breeding colonies and genotyping those mice
• Other related duties
• This includes other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Experienced in animal handling (mouse and rabbit) as well as basic molecular biology including Western blot, immunohistochemistry, PCR

Job Specific Physical and Cognitive Requirements:

Light to medium lifting (less than 20 - 40 lb), fast pace, multiple stimulation, intense customer interaction, frequent change, memory, reasoning, hearing, reading, analyzing, logic, and verbal and written communication

Hours / weeks - up to 29 hours per week

Days /hours - Monday - Friday / up to 29 hours per week

This is a restricted position with no set end date and continued employment is dependent upon project need, availability of funding, and performance.
