Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing websites for the VCU School of Education and its centers for the VCU community as well as prospective students and the general public:
• Proficiency with managing a website, as well content management systems (TerminalFour, WordPress, other), managing and building effective web templates and pages
• Experience with front-end web development (HTML5, CSS3, PHP)
• Work with VCU Web Services team to ensure that websites meet ADA compliance requirements and desired updates for customers
• Assist with coordination of VCU SOE social media
• Strong proofreading skills for the web, high attention to detail, and knowledge of AP Style guidelines
• Maintain regular work hours based on schedule outlined with Communications Specialist
• Participate in weekly meetings with the Communications Specialist to provide a report on the status of current and future assignments
• Work in conjunction with other student and professional staff
• Assist Communications Specialist with other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
• Verifiable experience with and thorough working knowledge of TerminalFour and other content management systems
• Ability to write or revise code to modify or repurpose templates and plug-ins
• Attention to detail, proofreading, and critical thinking skills
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction
• Ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of basic photographic principles and Adobe Creative Suite
Salary Range: $18 - $22
