Position Summary and Primary Responsibilities:
A postdoctoral position is available starting Oct 2022 to work in the Department of Health Behavior and Massey Cancer Center. The postdoc will participate on several projects related to health disparities research and cancer prevention and control, including supporting program evaluation-related functions of the VCU Massey National Program Office (NPO). The postdoc’s role is to assist with study development, implementation and program evaluation. Duties will include database development/ maintenance, data collection (focus groups, interviews, surveys, etc.), literature reviews, data analysis (quantitative and qualitative), serving as a liaison between program staff, community partners, and researchers and clinical staff; developing and maintaining adherence to research protocols, assisting with presenting data, writing reports, manuscripts, and research grant proposals/ applications. The postdoc will assist with cross-site evaluation, technical assistance for grantees, IRB, statistical analyses, manuscript and reports development, and work with the team to achieve the goals of the Alliance. Pending the size and scope of the research team, the postdoc may also co-supervise graduate assistants, student employees or other research staff.
Additionally, the incumbent will participate in the preparation of innovative research grant applications. This includes working collaboratively with VCU and other research teams to submit additional grant proposals. The postdoc will develop an Individual Development Plan (IDP) which will be reviewed periodically and, upon approval of the postdoc supervisor, will have the opportunity to work with health equity investigators on other projects of interest to his/ her career development in addition to cancer. The postdoc will also be involved in grant proposals as they arise within the department.
Required Hiring Standards:
We are seeking candidates with a PhD with a commitment to a career as a health disparities and cancer prevention and control researcher. Candidates should have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a postdoc at VCU.

Salary Range: $55,000-$56,000
