Responsible for the operations activities and personnel supervision of facilities service areas, which includes: Solid Waste collection, Recycling and Waste diversion program.
  1. Develops staffing plans and oversees staff including hiring, development and evaluations of staff through coaching, mentoring and ensures appropriate training in solid waste collection, waste diversion, and recycling.
  2. Assigns, approves and reviews daily log, work orders, timesheets and other departmental reports needed to done for solid waste and recycling staff.
  3. Makes long-range plans to meet state mandates, negotiates contracts with solid waste haulers, disposal sites and consultants, and makes policy recommendations in the development of solid waste programs and facilities recycling.
  4. Assists the Facilities Services Manager with budget management for solid waste diversion and resource recovery. Develops and evaluates performance measures, authorizes payments, and participates in resolution of dispute with contractual matters.
  5. Responds to service complaints, personnel matters and troubleshoots equipment issues.
  6. Ensures the maintenance, safety and security of equipment and building facilities. Ensures availability of supplies, tools, machines and vehicles, and orders materials as needed.
  7. Serves on special task force during special events, such as recyclemainia or emergencies, such as floods, storms, hurricanes, etc.
  8. Assist with the development of operational procedure, ensure compliance, participates in safety and training meetings.
  9. May inspect work site, facilities and buildings to ensure work meet established quality standards.Performs other job-related duties as required.

Qualifications :

18 months and 3 years experience

Requires specialized training in basic trades, principles, procedures, practice, routines or techniques in a specific area or trade which might normally be acquired through up to 18 months of education or training beyond the high school level. Vocational competence in the operation of mechanical or electronic equipment may be required.Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.Requires a valid Texas Driver's LicenseRequires Class A CDL LicensePrefer a Municipal Solid Waste Facility Supervisor license for the State of Texas
